Your pool water flows through black, UV-stable solar mats installed on your roof. The sun heats the water as it moves through the mats, and that warm water circulates back to your pool or spa. It's simple, proven technology with no electricity required and no moving parts on the roof.
No. Solar pool heating is thermal, not photovoltaic (PV). We're heating water directly with the sun, not generating electricity. There are no electrical components on the roof, no inverters, and no connection to your home's electrical system. This makes solar pool heating simpler, more affordable, and easier to maintain than PV solar.
Most pools reach 78 to 85°F on sunny days, depending on system size and coverage. Hot tubs and spas can exceed 100°F with solar alone, no gas heater needed. Water temperature depends on your location, system size, and time of year, but most customers swim comfortably from May through October.
Quality solar pool heating systems typically last 15 years with minimal maintenance. The mats we install are UV-stabilized and designed for Southern California's intense sun. Most manufacturers offer 10 to 12-year warranties.
