On October 14, 2026, Magen eco-Energy, the company behind Heliocol panels, bought the solar pool heating business of The LeverEdge and Solar Hydronics. That includes the Hi-Tec, iSwim, SwimMaster Plus and NUVIS panel lines and the factory in Odessa, Florida, that makes them. LeverEdge has left the solar business, and from October 19 those panels are sold through Magen.
Fewer manufacturers left
We believe competition is good for this industry. It pushes every manufacturer to build a better panel at a fair price. So it's a tad concerning to watch the field shrink. FAFCO, which made solar pool panels for 55 years, closed in November 2024. Magen had already bought UMA Solar, and now it owns LeverEdge's panel business too. That leaves two major manufacturers of solar pool panels: Aquatherm and Magen.
Why we're still optimistic
We remain cautiously optimistic, and we're excited to see what Magen's professionalism and added scale will do for the industry.
We're also really happy to see Magen add a tube-and-web panel. Magen's best-known panel, Heliocol, is built from individual tubes with gaps between them. LeverEdge's panels are tube-and-web: a thin web joins the tubes side by side, so the panel is one solid, flat surface. Now Magen makes both major styles.
